After the Fijar War, Muhammad ﷺ (age 20) joined this noble alliance to protect the rights of the weak in Makkah. Initiated when a Yemeni merchant was wronged, the pact involved swearing to oppose oppression wherever found. The Prophet later said he wouldn't abandon such an oath even for red camels.
