Abu Talib, though not wealthy, cared for Muhammad ﷺ with exceptional love. He took him on trade journeys to Syria at age 12 (where Bahira the monk recognized his prophethood) and protected him throughout his life, even refusing to abandon him during the Makkan persecution despite not accepting Islam.
