Treaty of Hudaybiyyah

صلح الحديبية

Hudaybiyyah, near Makkah

The Prophet ﷺ set out with 1,400 Muslims for Umrah but was stopped by the Quraysh at Hudaybiyyah. A peace treaty was negotiated that seemed unfavorable to the Muslims but was called 'a clear victory' by the Quran. It allowed peaceful da'wah and led to mass conversions.

Significance

The Quran called this treaty 'a clear victory' (Fath Mubin). The peace allowed Islam to spread rapidly through Arabia.
